This position is not with OVI.Our client is seeking a hands-on Cloud Architect to support a strategic cloud transformation and application modernisation programme. This role bridges cloud architecture and engineering, ideal for a Senior Cloud Engineer stepping into an Architect role or a Junior/Mid-level Cloud Architect with strong engineering skills. You will guide teams in cloud maturity, establish standards, and deliver complex cloud solutions across Azure and GCP. Key Responsibilities Define target cloud architectures for application migration and modernisation. Develop Azure and GCP reference architectures, patterns, and standards. Provide hands-on architectural guidance to engineering and development teams. Support cloud adoption and establish best practices across less mature teams. Ensure solutions align with enterprise technology strategy and regulatory requirements. Assess legacy applications and recommend migration strategies. Support the adoption of PaaS and SaaS services. Work directly with engineering teams to implement cloud-native architectures. Partner with platform engineering teams to build scalable and secure cloud platforms. Drive Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Support CI/CD, automation, observability, and platform reliability initiatives. Define and implement standards for cloud networking, identity, security, monitoring, and resilience. Ensure cloud architectures comply with banking regulations and internal governance requirements. Work with Security Architecture and Risk teams to implement secure-by-design principles. Provide technical leadership and guidance to less mature engineering teams. Present architecture recommendations and designs to governance forums and senior stakeholders. Your Profile Strong hands-on experience across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience operating at Cloud Architect, Senior Cloud Engineer, or similar level. Strong understanding of enterprise-scale cloud architecture. Experience with cloud migration and application modernisation. Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience. Experience with Kubernetes and containerised environments. Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security, and resilience. Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices. Experience designing microservices, API-led, and/or event-driven architectures. Experience working within regulated banking or financial services environments. Ability to provide hands-on technical support as well as architectural leadership.
