Role Context
The Sales Manager – TBU Sales is a senior individual contributor role responsible for driving growth of engineering and technology services within the Automotive sector. Based in Frankfurt, the role focuses on developing strategic relationships with Automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers across Europe and supporting their transformation towards software-driven, connected, and electrified vehicles.
The role requires a strong understanding of Automotive engineering ecosystems combined with a consultative sales approach. The incumbent will work closely with internal technical, pre-sales, and delivery teams to shape customer engagements, expand existing accounts, and create new business opportunities aligned with long-term customer roadmaps.
Job RequirementsOwn and deliver sales and strategic objectives for the assigned Automotive business unit and customer portfolio.Translate business strategy into actionable sales plans, account strategies, and opportunity pipelines.Drive structured sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting to support sustainable revenue growth.Lead business development efforts across Automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers, with a focus on long-term strategic engagements.Build, manage, and grow senior-level customer relationships across engineering, procurement, and executive stakeholders.Expand the engineering services portfolio footprint by positioning end-to-end offerings across software, electronics, embedded systems, and digital engineering.Identify customer challenges and upcoming vehicle programs, converting them into value-driven engineering service opportunities.Lead complex sales cycles including opportunity qualification, RFP/RFI management, solution definition, proposal development, and contract negotiations.Collaborate closely with solution architects and delivery teams to define differentiated offerings aligned with customer requirements.Identify and execute strategic partnerships and joint go-to-market initiatives to strengthen market access and competitive positioning.Represent the organization in customer meetings, industry discussions, and Automotive events.Ensure seamless transition from sales to delivery to support successful program execution and long-term customer relationships.
Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution (Electronics, Computer Science, or related disciplines).8+ years of experience in sales within the Automotive domain, ideally in engineering services or technology-led organizations.Proven experience selling complex engineering, software, or digital solutions to Automotive OEMs.Direct exposure to Automotive OEMs and/or Tier-1 suppliers, with an understanding of their engineering, procurement, and decision-making processes.Solid understanding of Automotive product development lifecycles, vehicle electronics, software platforms, and emerging mobility technologies.Experience managing strategic accounts, multi-year engagements, and multi-stakeholder sales processes.Ability to understand technical requirements, shape solution-led conversations, and translate them into commercial agreements.
