Advanced Quality Engineer (m/f/d) | CAIP Hungary Nyíregyháza, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, Hungary · on-site Posted 2026-09-07 Advanced Quality Engineer (m/f/d) | CAIP Hungary (Nyíregyháza)CAIP Group is a global Tier 1 automotive supplier for premium interior components — instrument panels, door panels, and decorative trims — for leading European OEMs. We are building a new plant in Nyíregyháza and launching our first European programs from it.As Advanced Quality Engineer you own quality in the project phase: you are the person who decides whether a part is ready to go to the customer, and the person the customer talks to when it is not.Your responsibilitiesAPQP project qualityRun the full APQP cycle for new programs: quality plan, DFMEA and PFMEA moderation, control plan, inspection standards, and work instructions.Drive milestone delivery through prototype, OTS, PPAP, and SOP against the customer timing plan.Own the customer PPAP submission end to end — dimensional reports, material certificates, capability studies, reliability tests, traceability documentation.Prototype and pre-series qualityManage sample inspection, full dimensional verification, and MSA / GR&R studies for the measurement systems.Control and drive out typical injection molding and welding defects — weld lines, flow marks, gap and flush deviation, ultrasonic weld failures, assembly variation, cosmetic issues on Class-A surfaces.Qualify gauges and fixtures and secure measurement stability before series release.Risk preventionModerate cross-functional FMEA reviews for product design and manufacturing process.Identify and mitigate risks in tooling, sequential valve gate control, welding fixtures, and equipment variation.Define error-proofing, incoming quality standards, and final inspection criteria; establish full production traceability.Pilot run and SOP releaseMonitor trial runs, document non-conformances, and lead 8D root-cause analysis through to verified closure.Improve process consistency and equipment stability until the customer's SOP release criteria are met.Supplier quality in the project phaseSupport new supplier audits and evaluation; define project-specific supplier quality requirements.Review supplier PPAP packages and sample quality; track and close early supplier issues before they reach our line.Changes and customer interfaceAssess the quality impact of ECNs and engineering changes; manage deviation approvals with the customer.Maintain quality documentation: drawings, inspection files, test data, process records.Support customer audits, VDA 6.3 process audits, and OEM project reviews on site.Write and defend English-language 8D reports until every customer concern is formally closed.Your profileDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Technology, or comparable.3+ years in advanced quality / project quality in automotive components; interior or injection molding background strongly preferred.Confident with the core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC. Practical working knowledge of IATF 16949 and the VDA series, in particular VDA 6.3.Able to read 2D and 3D drawings independently; solid understanding of injection molding, ultrasonic welding, and assembly processes.Familiar with caliper, height gauge, gap and flush gauges, and CMM measurement.Fluent English for technical reporting and direct customer contact.
